These websites always emphasize something such as "4,000,000+ users, find the passion of your life now!" as part of their sales pitch - a regular person may think "wow! That's a lot! I want to subscribe! Here, have my money!"
This is great for the people that are running the websites - but pretty crappy for the suckers who are subscribing.
[Side note: I just want to say that I have used online personals before. I usually used the ones that didn't boast high membership numbers, because I believed at the time that there would be more real accounts on them and that it would be less of a "scam"]
Thus, you can imagine what was going through my mind when my friend notified me and recommended a widely known married personals such as Ashley Madison Agency for my wife and I to use. I signed up as a free member, and thought that the interface looked sort of okay as a quick glance. As I looked into it further, I saw that here were a lot of members. Many of them seemed to have real profiles too!
But then again, I have to be honest to you...
